You all know I love a good underrated, and even unassuming, photo spot! Bryan and I search high and low for unique locations we haven’t yet seen on Instagram and he usually ends up making even the most random tile or pop of color that catches my eye work for me. I have a great photographer, don’t I? ;) Honestly what I like in a photo is mostly color, or just something I’ve never seen before, and that can be a bit challenging with the usual walls at Disney (which I also LOVE, don’t get me wrong!!) Sometimes you just have to look at things differently, so hopefully this part one is the beginning of lots of new favorite photo spots for you, and for me!
|1. Tropical Hideaway - Adventureland, Disneyland|
True to my tiki-inspired name, I am obsessed with the Tropical Hideaway in DL! Some of the cutest theming and really tasty snacks, but I’m getting ahead of myself. The entranceway makes for great tropical backdrop for all of your dole whip photo needs!

|2. Tile wall - by Schmoozie’s, California Adventure|
Every time I walk by, I’m tempted to take more photos there because of how fun the tiles and the extra little details that make the rainbow tiles even more fun! These walls are located on both sides of Schmoozie’s!

|3. Benches all down Hollywood Land - California Adventure|
One of my favorite interactive attractions in the Animation building is the Animation Academy, right before Turtle Talk with Crush because who hasn’t wanted to talk to a sea turtle before? I love the Animation building inside and out so I had the idea to do a typical couple-at-disney photo, but add in the building for that full Disney effect. Is the Animation building coming for the castle? Maybe, maybe... while it’s under that tarp at least, hahaha.

|4. Tile Pillars - by Schmoozie’s, California Adventure|
When you need a bright orange background, but you can’t get to the orange wall by Captain Marvel. The tiled pillar texture makes for a good change from the usual flat walls we usually ‘gram at! This teeny little spot is located to the right of Schmoozie’s down the way from the Hyperion.

|5. Schmoozie’s! - Schmoozie’s (lol), California Adventure|
Pop of color? Check. Fun tile/pattern? Check. Room for a full body shot? Check. I love red, it’s currently my favorite color! I miss that Minnie Mouse wall in Toon Town, so when I noticed this bit of red I jumped on it! This bit of red is basically RIGHT at schmoozie’s, at the ordering window- trust me, you can’t miss it.

This past weekend I celebrated my 24th birthday alongside some of the best humans I have had the pleasure of meeting thanks to Instagram! I have long admired Osoroi Code in Japan, which is wearing matching or identical outfits in a group setting. Translated, the name literally is the English word “coordinate”, shortened! Picture this: I was casually browsing shopDisney.com one night, (as I frequently do, because DISNEY) and I came across one of the new graphic tees that screamed KAWAII at me. Or more like, I screamed “Kawaii” at them. Here’s the tee- the all over Mickey print reminded me of the all over character tees they have at the Tokyo parks!
We all decided on black bottoms, plain Mickey ears, and any Mickey-colored sneakers- an easy beginner level osoroi code to start, because who doesn’t already have those essentials! Each of us made our look a little bit more our own by cuffing our sleeves, French tucking (Ă la Tan France), and accessories! For my accessories I wanted to go simple; minus my GIANT, POLKA DOTTED, SEQUINED Minnie bow... haha.
My Mickey hoops here and necklace here are from Couture Kingdom, and here’s a better view of those babies in my selfie! I love a simple statement piece, especially when you have a large pattern garment on already! These pieces are understated, but dress this simple pants-and-a-tee look up just enough!
I truly had the perfect disney day, minus almost getting dropped on my head??? Hahaha, kidding, they’re forgiven. We ate, drank, laughed, enjoyed each other’s company, and did not go on any rides because we were so busy having every other kind of fun. I love each and every one of you guys, if you were waiting for your shoutout here it is! Thanks for making my day so special, and for welcoming 24 with me. Here’s to 24! Please be good to me!

Happy (belated) National Polka Dot day! This day is obviously a day to dress all dotty and celebrate our favorite mouse gal, Minnie! I had such a blast hanging out with friends (and boyfriend) and dressing to make Minnie proud. I always have such a great time coming up with outfit concepts for elaborate disney days- and polka dot day was no exception.
From left to right: Me, @therachelestplaceonearth, @theminniemouseclub, and @fdzney!
Drawing inspiration from a past disneybound of mine where I wore a ‘deconstructed’ Mickey inspired outfit, I had the idea to deconstruct the bound even further. We each took a color and element of Minnie- shoes and yellow, gloves and white, dress (and bow!) and red, and the entirety of Minnie (but mostly her ears) and black. To take it one step further and really solidify the Minnie aspect of our group bound, we made sure we donned LOTS of DOTS.

Taken right next to the camera shop in Toontown, had to make sure I matched my surroundings! ;)
Up close and personal with my Minnie stamp from Plaza Inn breakfast. Pom pom earrings by me, hat by Brixton (but currently not available on Brixton’s site.)
I decided to pair this fun, but a bit dressy dress (that is no longer available, but here is a similar one) with a pair of converse to dress down the formal (for the parks) look of the dress! It’s a fun way to wear ALL of your dresses ALL of the time! My literal ‘bucket bag’ is the yellow balloon popcorn bucket that’s still available in the parks, I just added my own chain to replace the strap it came with.
Last and definitely not least, here are my cuties. They are ever-supportive of my ideas (disneybound-wise and otherwise) and I love them endlessly. Thanks to them for giving into my crazy plans, and thanks to all of you for your love and support on this concept and look!

It's December! That means turtlenecks, holiday music playing in practically every public space, and all-peppermint-everything season (which I infinitely prefer over all-pumpkin-everything season...) Some of my best childhood memories were made around Christmastime. Growing up, we were never able to participate in buying a live tree after discovering my Christmas tree/pine tree allergy, so each year my parents would take me to pick out a new ornament to make the tree special and new for my brother and I every year! Another tradition I look forward to each year is annual Christmas lasagna- my grandma makes two giant lasagnas for our big family on Christmas Day. The countdown to Christmas lasagna is ON. Like the song says, it really is the most wonderful time of the year; and I think the most wonderful thing about it is the fact that I can finally break out my full arsenal of vintage Disney sweaters!
Although when I’m not in a vintage Disney pull over, I’m definitely in a turtleneck. The other day, a few of my cute gal friends and I thought of the idea to take a Christmas card style photo in coordinating plaid outfits. The outfit I decided on (after much deliberation) is simple and super easy to dress up or down. My cream turtleneck is from target last year, but here’s a similar one! I thrifted my plaid skirt (of course) and my boots are my go-to park boots from Steve Madden. I also came across a similar skirt here! I love the idea of plaid for December, it's so easy to incorporate and really adds some festive flair to any outfit!! My pom pom ears are from Disneyland last year, but the pom pom ears they are offering this year are black fluffs with a grey Christmas sweater pattern and I may or may not need them... ;) Of course the location decided upon was the parks and honestly, I think we picked the cuter of the two main trees- sorry Disneyland!

Happy Sunday, and even more importantly, happy birthday to the big cheese! Our beloved Mr. Mouse turns 90 today and I loved celebrating for a bit today at the parks! In honor of the big 9-0, I wanted to showcase a few different outfits inspired by some of my favorite moments in Mickey history. We always see Minnie style, because who doesn’t love to rock those classic dots, but what about the underrated fashion icon that is Mickey Mouse?
My first look is inspired by the original black and white Mickey shorts like Steamboat Willie and Plane Crazy! I paired my black and white vintage Disney sweatshirt (which I cut the sleeves off of, of course) with a white and black polka dot skirt (and socks!) as a nod to our gal Minnie, cream boots, and Mickey's actual head. Oh wait no, not a real Mickey head, just the CUTEST Mickey head bag in existence.

Color inspiration for this next look was drawn from Mickey's conductor outfit in The Band Concert short. I like to think the red plaid with the veins of green almost mimic the chartreuse details on Mickey's jacket! I layered the embroidered button up from Forever21's Mickey collection under a vintage mini dress I found at my local Goodwill. Yes- the Harvey's Mickey bag makes yet another appearance. ;)
Button Up: Forever21 Exact Match | Dress: Thrifted Similar | Boots: Steve Madden Similar | Bag: Harvey's Exact Match | Earrings: Couture Kingdom Exact Match
Of course I had to do a Sorcerer Mickey inspired bound(ish?) My absolute favorite vintage item is this 3/4 sleeve graphic tee that my mom picked up at a boutique on her first trip with my dad to San Francisco. If you're reading this, thanks mom! Sorcerer's Apprentice Mickey along with other Mickey roles throughout the years are featured all over this tee, try to spot your faves! I decided to do a play on the wide sleeve robe Mickey wears as the sorcerer's apprentice with these wide leg red trousers. Couldn't forget my sorcerer hat... err beret and statement star earrings- to mimic the iconic blue hat with those moon and star details!

Wanted to feature this throwback to the deconstructed classic Mickey disneybound I did a while back because it’s truly one of my favorite park outfits I’ve worn! My yellow turtleneck for his shoes, black overalls for his little body, and what I like to call the ‘butt bag’. It’s one of my favorite Loungefly bags I have ever seen, and I didn’t even discover it! My sweet boyfriend Bryan surprised me with it one day and I was immediately in love and so in shock that I had never seen it before, but I digress. Here’s proof that sometimes simple park outfits are the best park outfits!
Last and definitely not least, my all polka dot outfit to honor our gal Minnie. I wanted to do a play on past to present Minnie style with this outfit. In my mind, my black and white polka dot pants represent OG Minnie style in the early cartoons. Then I brought it all the way up to present day with that unmistakable red and white polka dot print! I flipped my Harvey's rose bag around and bam, it's a big red polka dot bag! Of course I had to wear my favorite yellow mules- I saw Minnie Mouse wearing yellow heels and polka dots, so I bought yellow heels and (more) polka dots. Haha. Because it's Minnie's birthday, too!!
Top: Thrifted Similar | Pants: Nasty Gal Exact Match | Mules: Nordstrom Similar | Bag: Harvey's Exact Match | Earrings: Couture Kingdom Exact Match | Necklace: Couture Kingdom Exact Match
Mickey and Minnie have been with me through all of the laughs and the tears (happy AND sad), and have helped me push forward to better days when the going got tough. Here's to many more years of these mice and their magic! Happy Birthday you two, thank you for everything!

Happy Fall babes! I’m back- and this time there’s food involved! One of my favorite things to do at Disneyland (and in general) is eat! There are a number of seasonal offerings at the Disneyland Resort and California Adventure each time Halloweentime rolls around. I always like to pick out the tastiest sounding ones to try first, and that’s exactly what this post is about! I tried eight of the new treats that were calling my name- well, my stomach’s name.
Full disclosure: I’m a sucker for holiday sweets, but savory foods are more my go-to. So you know know the sweet treat is a winner if it’s on my list!
Up first we have the Spice Bundt Cake! I honestly didn’t expect too much from this guy, but it was SO. GOOD. Bryan and I devoured this mini bundt in record time (probably).
A definite 10/10, the cream cheese frosting center put it in our top spot.
My favorite from last year is BACK! The Slow-Burnin Mac and Cheese cone is just as delicious as it was last year. I will note that it’s spicier than last year, or maybe that’s just my wishful thinking. No this cone isn’t new to me, and I know I obsessed about it last year on instagram already, but I cannot say enough good things about it. Just get it and thank me later. A 9.5/10, the actual cone’s lack flavor sets this back on our list.
Location: Cozy Cone Motel in California Adventure
Going for another sweet, as one does at Disneyland. The Pumpkin Layered Cheesecake tastes like Thanksgiving and Fall and cozy nights spent baking. Which sounds oddly specific, and it is, but try it and then tell me I’m wrong. A 8/10, loved the pumpkin to cheesecake ratio, just wish there was a bit more topping!
We grabbed a bowl of the Bacon Cheddar Ale soup in a bread bowl, of course, because there’s no other way to do it. Rachel said it best when she admitted it wasn’t “knock your socks off good”, but “went really well with the sourdough.” You just cannot go wrong with a hot soup in a bread bowl, let’s be real. A solid 7/10.
I tried the Oktoberfest Dog with high hopes, mostly because the description and photo drew me in. I love beer cheese and sauerkraut, so I was ready. The toppings were great together, I just found the kielbasa to be a little bit overly peppery. Bryan on the other hand, loved it. A collective 6/10 from us!
Location: Award Wieners in California Adventure
Coffee ice cream is in my top three favorite flavors of ice cream, so when I saw the Bat Whoopie Pie had espresso chip ice cream, I knew I needed to try it. While the cake was super moist and the right amount of dense, unfortunately the ice cream was a let down in the espresso flavor department. Haha! A 6/10.
Location: Schmoozies in California Adventure
Funnel Cake Fries are always a good idea, but are Cookies and Cream Funnel Cake Fries? I was actually a little disappointed in these. They weren’t very creamy, they were just very sweet and strangely salty. The redeeming factor were the fries themselves! A no from me, 4/10.
Unfortunately my most-anticipated item was also my least favorite. Maybe it was my high hopes, but the Musubi Special was not great. :-( The rice was undercooked and cold, while the spiced ham was dry. I so wanted to love this snack because I am a huge spam musubi fan! Definitely a 4/10, not disgusting, but I wouldn’t get it again!
Location: Bengal Barbecue in Disneyland
Despite a few bummers, I loved trying all of these Halloweentime bites and I’m definitely ready to try some more! Have you tried any of these snacks yet? What are your thoughts, do you agree or disagree? What’s next? Should I try the seasonal churros next?? (Kidding, that’s a no-brainer!)

Spooky Snacks at Disney
Monday, September 24, 2018

Hi friends, it's Trend Highlight time! Here I'll be showcasing some of my favorite trends of the moment with a few outfit photos with (hopefully) some inspiration for you and also giving you some fun tips & tricks so that you can own these trends!
This first trend I'm super into right now, as you can see from the title, is pattern blocking! Pattern blocking, similar to color blocking, is wearing different articles of patterned clothing right next to each other. It's also a fun way to give new life to pieces in your closet that you might not have given a second glance at recently. Sometimes we get so bored with our clothing that I feel like I always need to go out and buy MORE. (At least I do!) Instead, why don't you challenge yourself this week and try to find a couple patterned pieces in your closet that you haven't been fond of lately, and pair them together!
Here are a few tips for optimum pattern blocking ;)
Top: Thrifted (Similar) | Overalls: Forever 21 | Shoes: Nordstrom (Similar) | Bag: Coach | Ear Headband: Disney
- I like to see stripes as the neutral of patterns, you can pair almost any pattern with stripes and it'll most likely look great! Yes, even more stripes- and you can quote me on that!
- An easy way to get into pattern blocking is pairing a small pattern with a bigger pattern. For example, a thicker stripe with a small polka dot print (much like my overall outfit pictured!) or vice versa.
- Pairing black and white patterns with color is a sure way to make your pattern blocked looks fun and statement-worthy!
Top: Amazon | Skirt: DIY (Similar) | Shoes: New Balance (Similar) | Bag: OhMyDisney | Ear Headband: Disney | Scarf: Thrifted (Similar)
- Monochrome looks are always fun, you can't go wrong pairing a couple fun, patterned pieces in the same color together! (like that all red outfit I have on right up there!)
- If you feel like you have a lot going on, take a second and add an accessory or two, before you say you hate the outfit. Sometimes you just need to break up the patterns with a bag, belt, or pop of color!
It's all in what makes you feel like YOU, always have fun with it and wear what makes you happy! :)

Hello Friends! Surprise! Tikiroombby here, but my real name is Tanya if any of you didn't know! I've actually gotten a lot of different people telling me they thought my real name IS Tiki, and honestly, I will probably respond to it anyway so you're welcome to just call me Tiki.
Permission granted.
A little Disney backstory. The Disney obsession seed was planted early on in my life. I grew up going to Disneyland all the time; it's practically my second home. My parents always had APs, so as soon as I hit passholder age, I became a Disneyland annual passholder and never looked back. Thanks mom & dad for passing on one of the most expensive hobbies...
When I first started my @tikiroombby instagram, it was an outlet for me to post all my Disney photos and stories instead of spamming my personal account because I clearly go way too often.
Kidding--the limit does not exist.
(If you don't get that joke, you can't sit with us.)
So, in turn, this blog will be an outlet to share all of the things I'm not able share on my Instagram. A lot of which will probably entail more outfit detail photos. I hope you're excited because I am!
I grew up loving fashion because it truly is so broad! Dressing out of my comfort zone is something I have always tried to push myself to do, and doing so forced me to develop my love for pattern blocking, wearing all colors, and so many other aspects of my current style! Aside from Disney and style, I really love food. Eating is one of my favorite things to do at Disneyland, and if you don't share my love of Plaza Inn, well, that may be a problem. ;)
I like a whole lot of other things too though!
Here's a short list of things I love that aren't Disney, fashion, or eating:
- Thrifting
- Reading in bed
- John Hughes films (yes, all of them!)
- Musicals
- Fleetwood Mac
- Garlic on practically everything I eat (okay, that's eating)
- Overdressing for every occasion- but to be fair, every day is black tie optional (okay, that's fashion, oops)
- The Office
- Parks and Rec
- F*R*I*E*N*D*S
- Buying office supplies (and never using them)
- Salt and vinegar chips (oops, food again)
- Boba (and there's food again... I really like food, guys!)
Okay so maybe that wasn't a short list after all. Also, I can't seem to stop listing food, so let me just cut it here.
I can't wait to to share my love of Disney and fashion and everything else with you all! Thanks for joining me for this new adventure!
